"GOW II" is simply 'WOW' if you like gore to the fullest and seething revenge is what you want in movie.
"Gangs of Wasseypur II", directed by Anurag Kashyap is the sequel to the film which simply re-defined violence recently in Hindi Cinema. Though quite necessary to depict the happenings in the script, violence of this proportion is actually 'mindless' and actually numbs one's senses after half an hour through the film.
However, this is definitely a well-made blood rampage thriller in terms of performance and technicalities.
Still the questions remains - in this already disturbed world, full of chaos, bloodshed, tension, unrest, torture on women and the weak in general, films like this is what we need the least.
Here in "GOW II", the now deceased Sardar Khan's (Manoj Bajpayee) son Faizal Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) declares war against Ramadhir Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia) and his blood-thirsty men. The war continues and bodies heap everywhere with guts flying and metal cartridge casings rattling to the floor after being expended from the smoking barrel of automatic weapons and 9 m.m. pistols.
Interspersed with black humor and crass romance (of Faizal Khan and Mohsina, played brilliantly by Huma Qureshi) with lines such as - 'Main tumhare saath SEX karna chahta hoon' - one really needs to sit up and watch intently the voyage and navigation of Hindi filmsThese days which simply does not know where to draw the line to make a film 'interesting' and quite foolishly ,leaves nothing to the imagination.
The new-age film directors probably calls it the 'realistic treatment'. Apart from these crass and totally unnecessary dialogues gaalis (abuses) of every color and hue flies merrily all through the film - 'no holds barred' style! I am waiting for the day when Indian films will become truly 'realistic' to even show scenes in vivid detail of actors engaged in taking nature's call in the confines of loo or even better-out in the open!!
I admit tastes differ in matters of food, reading habits and of course, films, and that is the reason I advise very strong-hearted individuals to go and watch "Gangs of Wassypur II" which is even bloodier than it's predecessor
