The theatrical trailer of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine has just
been released and the response has been mixed. Whatever the feedback to
the trailer is, we must say that, the real hero of this multi-starrer
is, Kareena Kapoor herself. She does it all, and that too
no-holds-barred. We will not be surprised if Bebo along with her beau,
Saif Ali Khan are sitting somewhere, celebrating this moment of glory.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the Chammak challo babe
does it all – shows skin, does an item number, uses foul lingo,
self-destructs and gets really ‘dirty’ with her co-stars (Arjun Rampal
and Randeep Hooda). Phew… if the makers have managed to pack in so much
with just a theatrical trailer, we wonder what is in store for us, when
we watch Madhur’s ‘realistic’ portrayal of heroines on the big screen!
The director employs every possible cliché in the textbook, but his
leading lady makes it all work with her sheer presence. The leading men
in this film seem to be incidental and fully replaceable, as Heroine is Kareena’s showcase all the way! Watch this space to sample the trailer; coming up soon!
